National Philanthropy

Nationally, our sorority supports the research for Speech and Hearing and The Painted Turtle Camp. The Painted Turtle Camp is a one-of-a-kind camp for children with chronic and life-threatening diseases. It is catered to children with these illnesses so that they can experience the summer camp atmosphere, while at the same time being cared for based on their condition.

The Starkey Hearing Foundation's Mission is to change the social consciousness of hearing and hearing matters through education and research; while providing the gift of hearing to those in need around the world. Visit The Starkey Hearing Foundation at http://starkeyhearingfoundation.org.

Starkey/Build-A-Bear Project

Delta Zeta alumnae and collegiate members can help us provide bears with hearing aid attachments from Build-A-Bear so that children at an upcoming hearing mission can have a 'furry friend just like them.'

Delta Zeta also supports The Starkey Hearing Foundation through fundraising efforts and our members who volunteer at various Starkey Hearing Mission events.

Local Philanthropy

Locally, the Lambda Nu chapter has chosen to support our very own Speech and Hearing Clinic. The AUM Speech and Hearing Clinic is located on campus.

AUMSHC is a full-service speech and hearing clinic. They have been in operation since 1975. They offer hearing testing, hearing aid evaluations and are a hearing aid dispensary, as well. They are considered a non-profit organization, as they are associated with the university and are a research/teaching institution.
They train undergraduate students in communication disorders and supervise doctoral level students from main campus that do clinical rotations here with us in their second year. They serve the AUM family and surrounding communities and are able to test all age groups from birth and up.
